黄花国际机场作为连接世界的重要门户，小航以飞机为主要形象，代表着机场的核心功能——航空运输。“航”字既体现飞机的航行，又象征着未来充满希望。它的形象简洁饱满、和蔼可亲、老实敦厚，为旅客提供安全快捷的服务。辅助角色“星仔”则基于长沙“星城”美誉诞生，代表光明、希望与指引，为旅客照亮归家之路，象征机场在航空领域的璀璨光芒。
