The logo was designed for the Institute of Data Science and Engineering at the School of Computer Science, Peking University, blending technology with cultural elements. The central "DSE" letters represent Data Science and Engineering, with the "S" using a negative space design to symbolize innovation and simplicity, and the "D" incorporating the image of the Boya Tower, reflecting the university’s culture and wisdom. The overall design conveys the institute's technological focus and Peking University's academic heritage. Below the letters, binary numbers symbolize the foundation of computer science, arranged to form the shape of Weiming Lake, representing the depth and breadth of data science, as well as honoring the institute's faculty.

This logo skillfully combines the technological attributes of the Institute of Data Science and Engineering, the cultural heritage of Peking University, and respect for its faculty, creating a symbol that is both meaningful and modern.
