Thesis Design - Cala

 by Dengwei Liu is a two-minute 3D animation rendered with 2D textures that explores the concept of self-worth. Cala, the video’s main character, lives in a world where he is always chasing a colorful reflection that unknowingly comes from atop his own head. Using a linear narrative structure, Cala’s transition from dark to vibrant visuals asks the viewer to re-examine superficial approaches to happiness and encourages a discovery of self-worth through self-reflection.
