1926年6月，浙江诸暨人周师洛和浙江省立专门学校的同学范文蔚等7人筹资6000银圆，以杭州的同春医院配方部为基础，开设同春药房，成立同春药房股份有限公司。

中国人自制针剂药并作为商品销售，同春药房是第一家。正因如此，同春药房的各类安瓶药品在1929年举办的西湖博览会上荣膺特等奖。

1936年10月，企业更名为民生药厂股份有限公司。

杭州民生与上海的信谊、新亚和海普一起被誉为中国人自办的最早的四大西药厂。

In June 1926, Zhou Shiluo, a native of Zhuji, Zhejiang Province, and Fan Wenwei, a classmate of Zhejiang Provincial Specialized School, and seven others raised 6,000 silver yen to open Tongchun Pharmacy based on the formula department of Tongchun Hospital in Hangzhou and set up Tongchun Pharmacy Co.

The Tongchun Dispensary was the first of its kind in China to make and sell its own injections as a commodity. Because of this, Tongchun Pharmacy's various types of ampoule medicines won the Grand Prize at the West Lake Exposition held in 1929.

In October 1936, the enterprise was renamed Minsheng Pharmaceutical Co.

Hangzhou Minsheng, along with Shanghai's Xinyi, Xinya and Haipu, were known as the four earliest western medicine factories run by the Chinese themselves.
