东盟成立于1967年8月8日到今天已经经历了三个重大发展阶段，环形的三条颜色代表这从开始到今天不断完善体系环环包围，10条线代表这东盟10个国家，团团包围紧密相连，代表着团结一致共创发展，采用两个8来做整体的图案，形成一个有中国韵律的中国结。ASEAN has gone through three major stages of development since its establishment on August 8, 1967.
