On the cover: Human iPSCs represent an ideal resource for the production of T cells that could realize “off-the-shelf” adoptive cell therapy. However, the generation of mature, functional iPSC-derived T cells for CAR T cell therapy remains challenging. In this issue, Jing et al. (1181–1196) report that releasing the EZH1-mediated epigenetic suppression of T cell differentiation generates developmentally mature iPSC-T cells with enhanced antitumor activity. The cover image depicts how histone methyltransferase EZH1 functions as a ball and chain for iPSC-T cells.
