The Piece

Illustrations were made for“The Piece” - a picture book for preschool and primary school children.

The theme of the book: a story about finding a friend. The protagonist of the poem is a robot that lacked details during assembly, and he is looking for something to fill the void. Searches go by formal criteria: blue, not living. But the piece found in the end is something opposite.

The illustrations are made using manual graphics using colored pencils and oil pastels, followed by processing in a graphic editor. The color scheme is based on the contrast of blue (the main color of the illustrations) with orange-yellow hues.

The book raises the topic of mutual assistance, support of another - not in the form of edification, in the text this happens naturally, as a matter of course. However, the main idea of ​​the poem is that someone who may not be “suitable” for some formal reasons (color, as in a book) can become a friend. But it's warm with this friend.
