Dabeiyuzhou constructs the evolutionary program of butterflies with Generative Adversarial Network (GAN). Up to now, the artificial intelligence designed by the artist can generate 12 different styles of butterflies every minute, and the total number of butterflies with non-repetitive texture has reached 800,000, far exceeding the real-world butterfly species of about 200,000. If any single parameter changed, there will be unpredictable results. “Virtual Butterfly" demonstrates the possibility that technology will not only calculate for reality, but will also transcend the evolution of it. By constantly observing and selecting the generated butterflies, Dabeiyuzhou intervenes his own consciousness in the operation of artificial intelligence. In this process, the artist and AI unceasingly adjust and merge, forming a natural ecology of human-machine synergy.

大悲宇宙以对抗生成网络（GAN）建构蝴蝶的演化程序。截至当前，艺术家所设计的人机协同的工作方式每分钟可生成12只不同样式的蝴蝶，经统计不重复纹理的蝴蝶总数已达80万只，远超现实世界20多万的蝴蝶品种数量，任何一个参数改变都将生成不可预测的结果。《虚拟蝴蝶》展示科技不仅计算现实，更将超越现实演化的可能性。艺术家通过不断观测与筛选生成的蝴蝶，将自己的意识介入人工智能的运作里。在这过程中两者不断地调整、融合，形成一个人机协同的自然生态。
