2D Animation: Trapped

Due to the influence of social media, more and more people are suffering from body shame and are restricted by the idea of an unattainable “perfect body”. This deformed situation is currently happening to my friends and, in particular, my sister. It affects them both physically and mentally. In my hand-drawn animation, the teddy bear character is trapped in a standard of being the best-selling toy. I place viewers into the perspective of bystanders as well as connect them with the story emotionally through the narrative. The contrast between the cute, cartoonish animation style and its tragic, dark end emphasizes the effects of body positivity. My hope with this artwork is to help people realize that there has never been any standard to judge others. Everyone is unique and worthy of being loved.
