Prejudice against hearing loss and deafness are widespread. As a hearing-impaired person, I have noticed that in most cases people only show respect and compassion out of courtesy. In fact, they do not truly understand disability and they couldn't imagine how life could be of value without hearing. Hence, I initiated an event: to create a role play game in which people with normal hearing are invited to experience what the hearing-impaired or the deaf are experiencing. This project aims to provoke a change of perspective and to promote awareness about social inclusion for the general public.

Minus Lab is an immersive/awareness-raising laboratory of initiating the feeling of hearing loss. By making ear impressions, our volunteer are forced to obstruct their hearing in acoustic way, as well as experience what it is like to be deaf.
