On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the US Open, the US Tennis Association decided to reinvent its visual identity. The mark is an evolution of the core concept of a flaming ball, distilled to its essence to work as a simple icon. The modern symbol is paired with an italic, lowercase sans-serif typography.

在美国网球公开赛50周年之际，美国网球协会决定重塑其视觉形象。标志是由一个燃烧的网球的核心概念所演变，并由此精炼到其本质，最终作为一个简单的图标使用。标志使用了一个现代的图形符号与斜体小写非衬线字体组合。

The resulting identity expresses the energy, spirit, and velocity of this fourth and final Grand Slam—the world’s most-attended sporting event. A visual language featuring ribbons, suggesting the movement of the tennis ball, was also created for use on tournament banners, posters, and other collateral.
