International Research and Promotion on Thangka——The Power of Silence.
Silence is a pure mind, a quiet sound, and an invisible power. Buddha is described to have three bodies: the ultimate truth body inspires a state of void, absent and omniscient; it materialized into the apparitional body and form body, which have visible appearances and moods.
The deities have three appearances: peaceful, active, and wrathful. All of them are but representations of the silent power, and combinations of benevolence and intelligence. Any ordinary man would be inspired to get rid of outer distractions and clamors, and retreat to his inner silence. This is the power of Buddhism, an inner strength that makes men truly powerful.
Only silence produces the Great Wisdom; only the Great Wisdom produces great power.
