Graduation design Abstract：

Shadow puppet, as China’s intangible culture, has been a focus of attention around the world; however, time has overshadowed its splendor and put it at the risk of disappearance. In my graduation thesis, I want to promote the northwest shadow puppet in order to arouse the young generation’s awareness of inheriting the intangible culture. In terms of the originality, I employ the photography as the basic element; in the creation of the book, I deliberately drop the conventional design concept and introduce the modern design element. Moreover, the graphic design concept is applied in the catalog design of the book in order to break away from the conventional text-catalog way. The book has both Chinese and English edition in order to boost the promotion. Then it’s the poster design. In the design of the shadow-puppet poster, I add some pictures to enrich the originality and take the mixed Chinese-English layout design. In addition, in the design of the T-shirt, I try to lessen the distance between the young and the shadow puppet so that the intangible heritage can have a bright future in stead of disappearing.

皮影作为中国的非物质文化也被世界所关注同时也随着时代的到来所流失。 推广西北皮影艺术是我设计的主要目的，以此来唤起青年一代对非物文化的继承，在创意中我运用摄影作为创意元素，同时书籍里分了三个篇章以摄影的高中低三个影调来串联整个作品，在书籍突破常规的设计理念，加入当代设计元素。在书籍的目录设计中突破了常见的文字目录，而是运用图表设计的理念在目录中。书籍运用双语版式来加大推广力度，其次是海报设计，在皮影海报设计中，进行图形创意外加中英文的混排版式设计，再次通过T恤设计拉近年轻人和皮影的距离非物质遗产能够通过设计弘扬走的更加长远，而不是销声匿迹。
